Not much is known about Guava in the United States, but this green and delicious fruit is rich in many nutrients and packs antioxidants in every bite.

Almost no one has a clue that Guava has the maximum content of Vitamin C than any other fruit, but it is true. Guava is mostly a staple of a lot of Asian countries because if its tropical climate. It is also grown in Mexico, Central America, and some parts of South America. It is delicious eaten whole or as a juice. It is green in color and turns yellow when over-ripe, however, it can be eaten when it is yellow too. Guava has seeds and a rind which is edible. The rind can be bitter or sweet depending on whether the fruit is ripe or not. The inside is white or reddish-pink in color.

Apple Guava is the most common variety eaten around the world. Try it with a sprinkle of chili powder for some spice and added flavor. In Asia, desserts and tea are also prepared from Guava. Jams, jellies and marmalades are also prepared from Guava. The leaves and skin in this fruit provide plenty of nutrients.

Helps fight gingivitis, a gum disease, because of its rich concentration of folate.

Helps treat swollen gums, alleviates tooth ache, and prevents oral cancer.

The rind contains high amounts of Vitamin C, thus increasing immunity.

Contains Quercetin, an antioxidant that blocks enzymes responsible for increasing sorbitol, a sugar leading to cataracts.

Protects against heart disease.

Clears the skin of acne and keeps it looking youthful. Boil the leaves in water and use the concoction at night to rinse the face, no need of facewash. One can also eat the entire fruit and gain the same effect! Vitamin A, B, and C in guava are good antioxidants that keeps the face young, free from wrinkles and naturally glowing.

Good source of iron.

Contains high amounts of fiber and complex carbohydrates that helps a person feel full for longer. Thus, it is good for weight loss. It maintains one's metabolism by ensuring proper absorption of nutrients.

Protects against Rheumatoid Arthritis and Alzheimers.

Helps reduce prolonged menstruation.

Guava keeps away Scurvy, a disease caused by the deficiency of Vitamin C, and since the rind is very rich in Vitamin C, eating Guava everyday fulfills the essential body dose.

This is a wonderful article,

I just found out the health benefits of not only guava, but many other fruits that can be used to heal mnay sicknesses and diseases including Lychee,Soursop and so many others.

I recommend this publications or if you can afford it get all three publications.
